Our FBI: is Trump a Russian asset?

Those bizarre and vaguely-troubling sounds you've been hearing in the last few days are tRump lovers' heads exploding up one side of the USA and down the other!

Yeah, some folks just can't understand how in the world our FBI opened an investigation to try to answer this very important question: is Donald tRump a Russian asset? Is he working to promote the interests of Vladimir Putin and Russia?

We've heard lots of drivel from the Reich Wing talking heads about how the fact that such a probe was opened proves their point about the "Deep State" trying to bring down their boy. On and on they drone...

Anyone, whether an intelligence/law enforcement professional, all the way down to the guy on the street, anyone who can't see why beginning such an investigation was necessary has either chugged a bucket of tRump's filthy Kool Aid or is so stupid or partisan that it doesn't penetrate their skull.

I knew something sinister was up after watching the video of tRump saying this:

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” tRump said. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.

We didn't know it at the time, but the Russian hacking of those Clinton staffers' emails began that night. The date--for tRump's remark and for the hacking--was July 27th of 2016.

I felt sure that tRump was acting on behalf of Russia when it was reported that members of his campaign staff, including Paul Manafort, cajoled the right people behind the scenes at the 2016 convention to drop the resolution condemning Russia and Putin for the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula.

When it was reported that tRump had gone ahead with hiring Mike Flynn as his NSA after being warned by Sally Yates that Flynn had been compromised by the Russians, I was 100% convinced that tRump was dirty.

When it was reported that Jared Kushner had attempted to set up a back-channel for communication with Russians--with Russians whom our intelligence pros knew had ties to Russian intelligence--I was way beyond convinced.

When we learned that no fewer than 16 members of tRump's campaign or White House staff had meetings or conversations with Russians our intel pros believed to be spies, and then all lied to cover up those contacts, the evidence was completely overwhelming.

Throw in the fact that the Russian contractor who landed the contract to provide security for our embassy in Moscow is himself a retired Russian Army officer and a member of the GRU and it's absolutely mind-blowing that tRump supporters are outraged over the fact that the FBI started looking into the "is tRump a Russian asset" question!

By the way, there are many, many other signs that give one reason to think that tRump is dirty. We could talk about all the outrageous stuff he said and did at Helsinki, the fact that he's had no fewer than five private meetings with Putin where no one but translators have the slightest clue about what took place.

We could talk about how there have been other meetings where Russian media types--many of whom are also intelligence operatives--were present while American reporters were barred.

We could talk about how we now know about at least five important stories dealing with American-Russian relations and tRump's actions only because Reuters pays Russian-speaking journalists to monitor Russian state media and report back on what they've heard! This is all stunning!

There literally are so many right-out-in-the-open signs that our poser prez is on this knees before his daddy Vladdy that I can't put them all in one blog posting!

And yet the members of Cult 45 still support this traitorous scum-bag.

Yeah, folks. Our FBI and other members of our intelligence services think our president could be a Russian asset.

The fact that any of this ever happened is truly mind-blowing.

The fact that tRump supporters can't see how we got here makes them complicit in tRump's treachery.

Chew on that for a while.

Kim Jong Un punks tRump in Singapore!

By now you've no doubt heard all about the awesome and historic summit between our Lying Loser Prez and Kim Jong Un, the vicious thug who rules North Korea with that proverbial iron fist.

Well, our Fearless Leader, our self-proclaimed Great Deal Maker just gave away the store in Singapore!

The #PoserPrez thought he was quite the negotiator when Kim put his name to a vaguely-worded pledge to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula; the fact is that it was nothing of substance, just a rehashing of  Korea's "commitment" made back in 2005 and at least two other times to pull the plug on the weapons program which has advanced light years from where it was when that "promise" was first made.

I'm not going to give the events in yesterday's summit any in-depth treatment in this post, but the specific event from the summit which has, quite justifiably, received the most treatment now that it's all wrapped up, was tRump's agreement--without actually being asked--to halt our military exercises with our South Korean allies.

Yeah. This cartoonishly incompetent, ego-driven moron many Americans thought had the skill and moxie to well represent the United States just bent over enthusiastically in Singapore and let KJU booty-root him with one of those second-generation, intermediate-range missiles in front of the whole world.

The blood-red, Donnie-commie cherry on this shit sundae of international diplomacy: while this was going on, the tRumpkins back home exploded in great paroxysms of demented delight, lauding Fearless Leader for his amazing negotiating skills and general awesomeness!

If you'd like to read a more detailed accounting of how this deal went down, here's a link to a solid article from Australian media about the summit that gives a pretty thorough treatment to Singapore without wading in too deep. (Yes, I know that's not an adverb. So sue me!)

A closing thought: here's a link to another piece which clearly, and with delicious irony, highlights how tRump went on at some length in a post-summit interview about what a great negotiator Kim is.

Well, Mr. tRump! The world certainly agrees with you on that one!

Could Benedict Donald wag the dog in Syria?

The Bulldog Barks

There are multiple signs that Donald tRump is getting frantic as Robert Mueller's noose is tightening around his neck. He is behaving--as so many people have pointed out--like someone who's got something to hide.

Our Poser Prez is really into posturing and talking tough. Many of us are leery of all his saber-rattling and are convinced that he's capable--more than capable--of starting a war just to deflect attention from his many mistakes, outrages and crimes and to thwart the Independent Counsel's investigation. I know he would do that in a heartbeat.

Journos and pundits have written volumes about this disastrous possibility. The two situations about which we've been most concerned are, of course, Iran and North Korea.

I'm not at all discounting the possibility that the madman occupying the White House at the moment would go back on the agreement under which the Iranian regime has stopped their nuclear program, and eventually start a war or conflict in the aftermath. Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

And the potential flash point on the Korean peninsula is an even bigger threat to our safety and security. The possible results there are just too horrible to contemplate. Anybody and everybody with even a shred of expertise in military, security or international affairs is predicting a bare minimum of two million casualties if the shit hits the fan in Korea.

Our losses could run as high as 70-80% of our 20,000 troops serving in that theater. I have no doubt that several thousand of the civilians from just about every country on earth who live and work in Seoul--a very modern mega-city and South Korea's capital--would become casualties. To say nothing of the loss of life among Korean non-combatants on both sides of the border--in very-vulnerable Seoul in particular.

So the American public is appropriately freaked out about any possible conflict in Iran or, especially, on the Korean peninsula.

But I'm saying that a conflict--right up to and including an actual, no-shit war-- with the Russians in Syria is quite possible and growing more likely by the minute.

The very serious engagement between our proxies and those in the employ of the Russians this week have barely drawn notice in the national media.

I'm not a pollster, but I'd wager that fewer than 10% of Americans have the slightest idea that the conflict blew up in the last 72 hours, let alone how serious it was. And it's not the first time that militias or forces supported by our side and the Russians have clashed. Not by a long shot.

A wag-the-dog scenario playing out with the Russians might be very appealing to Cadet Bone Spurs as it could give him a somewhat plausible-sounding cover in the matter of his collusion with Putin & Co. Something like "how could I be Vladimir's puppet if I'm willing to attack his peeps in Syria?" I don't think that gambit would work very well, but I absolutely believe it could seem like a good way to go in his head.

Having a president who's capable of blowing stuff up and inflicting possibly millions of casualties for short-term political gain or to stroke his fragile ego is mind-blowing. And very, very distressing.

And the fact that the other party in this possible shit-scenario could be the Russians takes a terrible situation and kicks it into the realm of terrifying. The realm of literally too-bleak-to-contemplate.

Yeah, it really sucks. The part that sucks the worst: it should never, never have come to this.
